Get verified on Paypal by linking your BPI card to your Paypal Account considering the fact that your are banking with BPI (Bank of the Philippine Islands). This is a step by step guide on how to verify Paypal account using BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard.
A verified Paypal account can use all the features of the account without any restrictions or limits on receiving, sending and withdrawing funds. It is really recommended to have your Paypal account verified especially if you’re working online with international clients or doing online business.
Before going on, these are the important things which you should already have or already done:
- Paypal Account
- BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard (How to get BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard)
- BPI Savings Account (optional)
- BPI Online Banking Account (optional)(How to register in BPI Online Banking)
It is recommended that you have a BPI Savings Account enrolled on BPI Online Banking and linked with your BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard. It is quite comfortable to do this if you are banking with BPI but if you don’t, it is entirely okay as long as you have the BPI ePrepaid Card.
Take note that before doing this, you should have at least ₱ 150 balance in your ePrepaid card since Paypal will charge around $1 to link your card to your Paypal account and additional ₱ 100 will be deducted to your BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard when you verify your card. If the verification process is successful, Paypal will return your ₱ 100 to your Paypal account.
How to Verify Paypal Account Using BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard
Step 1. Log in to your Paypal Account
Sign up or log in to your Paypal Account. Go to paypal.com.
Step 2. Click the Get Verified Link on the Account Overview
For the classic Paypal website design, click on the Get Verified Link on the account overview as seen on the image above. For the new Paypal website design, Go to Wallet Menu then click on Link a Card option.
Step 3. Enter your BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard Details
Following the instruction on Step 2, you should be seeing a webpage form that asks for your card details (BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard). Make sure to enter the correct card details. Enter your First Name, Chose MasterCard as Card Type, Enter your Card number, Expiry Date and Security Code. The security code is the digits (mostly 3 digits) you can find at the back of your card.
Step 4. Click Continue Button and Request 4-Digit Code
Click on the Continue or Save Button after entering your card details. You should see a message saying “Your 4-digit code has been requested” or similar one and you should receive an email from Paypal about your card confirmation. The 4-digit confirmation code is used by Paypal to ensure that the card is active and belongs to you.
Step 5. Confirm Your Card
The final step in order to get verified in Paypal using BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard is to confirm your card in Paypal by entering the 4-digit confirmation code sent to your card.
After 2 – 3 banking days, check your last 5 transactions in your BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard online statement (this is if you have enrolled the card to your BPI Online Banking Account). Alternatively, email BPI at expressonline@bpi.com.ph or call them at 89-100 to request your card’s transaction history.
Check the description field of your card statement, you should see the 4-digit code in this format “PP*1234CODE” where the 4 digits is your card confirmation code. Log in to your Paypal Account, click on “Confirm my debit or credit card” and enter your code to confirm your card thus, verify your Paypal Account.
